Currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Integrated Product Design, Moira has been exploring different aspects of the design world for over five years. She studied Architecture during her undergraduate years at Columbia University, deciding before her final year that buildings were not quite her passion. She began taking Continuing Education courses in Fashion Design/Illustration at the New School before switching to courses in Athletic Footwear Design (Ergonomics and Performance Materials) at the Fashion Institute of Technology at night.

Moira’s goals for her final year at UPenn include the development of an athletic footwear design/3D manufacturing business (Independent Study/Thesis) and fine-tuning her rapid prototyping and graphic design skills. Her ultimate career goals include a design and/or marketing position at an innovative/successful athletic footwear and accessories company or founding a new athletic (running) footwear company stemming from her Independent Study and Thesis research.

The purpose of the Blog portion of this Portfolio site is to further communicate Moira’s interests while also keeping readers apprised of innovative new technologies and designs related to these interests. It is a fun way to keep up with the fast-paced design world and archive interesting videos, images, articles, and design challenges/contests.
